What never leaves your device

Everything the microphone hears stays in your browser. When you capture singing, hum a line into the composer, or run a practice session, the audio is held on your own device and is never uploaded to us or to anyone else.

Separating a recording into a voice track and its accompaniment also runs inside your browser, using a model your browser downloads once and stores locally. The audio is not sent away to be processed.

• Recordings you make, and any tracks separated from them, live in your browser storage until you delete them.
• Pitch traces — the moment-to-moment reading of what you sang — are used while you work and are never stored on our servers.
• Local preferences such as your chosen Sa, tempo, and detection settings stay in your browser.
• Clearing your browser data for this site, or removing the separation model from the Refine panel, deletes all of it. We cannot recover it, because we never had it.

What we store when you sign in

Signing in with Google or Apple tells us your email address and the display name and profile picture that provider chooses to share. We never see your Google or Apple password.

With an account, we keep what an account is for:

• Your profile: email address, username, display name, profile picture, and the date you joined.
• Your compositions: the title, the notation, and any lyrics you write, along with the folders you file them in and when they last changed. These are private to you unless you publish them.
• Share links you create, and which of them have been opened.
• Practice results: your scores and per-swara accuracy, plus when the session happened. No audio and no pitch traces — the table that holds practice results has nowhere to put them.
• Settings you asked us to remember across devices, such as your timing calibration, preferred shruthi, and the name of your chosen input device.

You can use EzSwara without an account

Writing notation does not require signing in. Without an account, your work stays in your browser and we store nothing about you beyond the usage measurements described below.

What becomes public when you publish

Publishing a song to Community is a deliberate act and it makes that song public. The notation, its title, any lyrics, and your public profile — username, display name, and picture — become visible to anyone who visits the page, including people without an account. We also count views and likes.

Unpublishing removes the song from Community. Copies that others already saved or that search engines cached are beyond our reach.

What we measure

We record a short, fixed list of product events so we can tell whether the app is working: a visit, a first line typed, an export finished, a practice session started, and similar milestones. Each event carries an anonymous identifier, a session identifier, your account identifier when you are signed in, and the time we received it.

Your work is never part of that. Song titles, lyrics, notation, and audio are barred from event data as a rule in our codebase, not merely as a policy on this page.

We keep a salted, one-way hash of your IP address purely to stop floods of automated requests. We do not store raw IP addresses, we do not build advertising profiles, and there are no third-party trackers or ad networks in this app.

Cookies

We set the cookies needed to keep you signed in and to remember the session while you move between pages. There are no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Who else handles your data

A few services do specific jobs for us, and nothing more:

• Supabase — hosts the database and handles sign-in.
• Vercel — serves the website.
• Google and Apple — only when you choose to sign in with them.
• Google Fonts — serves the typefaces the pages use, so your browser requests them from Google when a page loads.

How long we keep things, and how to have them deleted

Your compositions and practice results stay until you remove them or ask us to close your account. Deleting a composition marks it deleted and stops showing it to you; the stored copy is purged after that, and copies may persist in backups for a short period.

Write to us and we will delete your account: your profile, compositions, practice results, and saved settings go, and usage events are cut loose from your account identifier so they no longer point at you. Anything you published is unpublished as part of this.

Children

EzSwara is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has created an account, write to us and we will remove it.

Changes to this policy

If what we do with your data changes, this page changes with it and the date at the top moves. Substantial changes will be announced in the app rather than left here to be discovered.
