Terms of Service

Last updated 23 August 2026

Short version: your compositions are yours, publish only what you have the right to publish, keep your own copies of anything recorded on your device, and the app is offered free and as it stands.

Using EzSwara

EzSwara is a tool for writing, hearing, and sharing Carnatic notation. Using it means accepting these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the app.

You need to be at least 13 years old to create an account. Keep your sign-in secure, since anything done through your account is treated as done by you. Pick a username honestly: handles that impersonate a person or an institution can be reclaimed.

Your compositions stay yours

You own what you write. Nothing here transfers ownership of your notation, your lyrics, or your recordings to us.

To run the service, we need your permission to store your compositions and show them back to you across your devices. If you publish a song, that permission extends to displaying it publicly in Community — including its title, lyrics, and your public profile — for as long as it stays published. Unpublish or delete it and that permission ends with it.

What you publish

Publish only what you have the right to publish. Much of the traditional repertoire is free for anyone to set down, but a particular notation, arrangement, or translation may be someone else’s work.

Do not publish anything unlawful, hateful, deliberately misleading about its authorship, or posted in bulk to game the feed. We may unpublish a song, or suspend an account, when these terms are broken — and we will say why when we do.

Keep your own copies

Recordings and separated tracks live only in your browser, which is good for your privacy and bad for your safety net. Clearing your browser data, switching devices, or a browser that declines to store audio will lose them, and we cannot recover what we never received.

Export or download anything you would be sorry to lose. Your notation, once signed in, is saved to your account and travels with you.

Features still finding their feet

Some parts of the app are marked beta, and separating a recording into stems is experimental by nature — it runs on your own device and its results vary with the recording. Treat what these features produce as a starting point to correct, not an answer to trust.

Fair use of the service

Please do not attempt to break, overload, or work around the limits of the service, scrape it in bulk, or interfere with anyone else’s use of it. Automated access that degrades the app for others can be blocked.

Provided as it is

EzSwara is offered free and as it stands, without warranties of any kind. We work to keep it available and correct, but we do not promise uninterrupted service, and transcription is an interpretation of what a microphone heard — it will sometimes be wrong.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for content lost from your own device.

Changes, and ending things

Features will change, and these terms may change with them; the date at the top moves when they do, and significant changes will be announced in the app. You can stop using EzSwara at any time and ask us to delete your account.
